The instructional materials reviewed for Grades 6-8 do not meet the expectations for alignment to the CCSSM. The materials devote the majority of class time to the major work for Grade 8, but not for Grades 6 and 7. While each standard is linked to one or more lessons within one unit, it is not done so across units. In addition, the material does not identify or relate grade level concepts explicitly to prior grade knowledge. Furthermore, the materials do not provide students of varying abilities extensive work with grade-level problems. Overall, the instructional materials reviewed do not meet the expectations for alignment to the CCSSM.
